Michal focuses on equity investments as well as strategic, corporate finance and restructuring projects. Previously he worked for Enterprise Investors, one of the largest CEE private equity funds, and for McKinsey & Company, a leading global top management advisory firm. Michal has experience in strategic and operational planning and management, business development and restructuring, motivational structures and M&A across a number of sectors, including retail, financial services, consumer goods, energy and media.
In 2008-2012 Michal was the Czech Country Representative of Enterprise Investors (opened Prague office in 2009), one of the largest CEE private equity houses targeting deals with equity investment of EUR 20-100 million (in CR e,g, Kofola, AVG). He was responsible for sourcing and evaluation of new investment opportunities as well as for supervision of selected portfolio companies in the Czech and Slovak Republic. Michal primarily focused on retail (non-food and food), consumer goods, financial services, media, and construction.
In 2004-2007 he worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Company, a top management consulting firm providing services to large international corporations. As a member of the Corporate Finance & Strategy practice, his projects covered mainly strategy, financial planning and finance function, KPIs and motivational systems, and M&A across a number of industries (insurance, media, automotive, banking, energy) and geographies (Czech and Slovak Republic, Italy, Germany, and Russia).
Prior to 2004 Michal spent and internship in HSBC and was an assistant of senator in the Upper Chamber of Czech Parliament.
Michal holds a PhDr. degree in economics (1998-2004, Faculty of Social Sciences, UK), MA in Law (1998-2005, Faculty of Law, UK), and MBA in international business (2001-2002, ESC Rennes, France).
